Baseball Recap: Discovery Comes Up Short

Discovery suffered their closest loss since March 3rd on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Four Corners Coyotes by a score of 6-4. The Spartans have struggled against the Coyotes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Jose Quintero was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Edrick Rivera, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Discovery's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Four Corners, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Discovery will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ridge Community at 7:00 p.m. on April 3rd. As for Four Corners, they will challenge Bell Creek Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Four Corners is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
