It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Trinity Catholic had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past the Lions with points to spare, taking the game 51-36.
Austin Holder had a dynamite game for Trinity Catholic, rushing for 148 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. Preston Wright ?25 was another key contributor, throwing for 219 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Mooney put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past North Florida Christian, posting a 41-14 win at home. The victory was nothing new for Cardinal Mooney as they're now sitting on five straight.
It was another big night for Carson Beach, who rushed for 178 yards and four touchdowns. Beach hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Mignery, who rushed for 85 yards on only six carries.
Trinity Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Cardinal Mooney, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 11-2 record.
