Marshall County hasn't had much luck against Central Magnet recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Marshall County will take on Central Magnet at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Marshall County put up the most points they have all season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Hickman County as Marshall County made off with a 13-2 win. The Tigers have beaten the Bulldogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Eli Cross made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cahlin Henry was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Marshall County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Reid Mitchell, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Marshall County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Central Magnet, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Spring Hill with a sharp 12-6 victory on Saturday.
Thomas Sesler and Jensen Spry did most of the damage at the plate: Sesler scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Spry scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. John Roth also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Marshall County's record is now 4-6. As for Central Magnet, their record is now 3-4.
Marshall County couldn't quite finish off Central Magnet in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Marshall County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
