The Sedan Devils had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 59.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took down West Elk 56-42. That's another feather in the cap for Sedan, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why West Elk lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maddex Moreno. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The match was Moreno's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Uriah Tillapaugh, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Sedan pushed their record up to 3-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for West Elk, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sedan won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Olpe. Olpe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Sedan is ranked 47th). West Elk won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against South Haven at 5:00 p.m. on December 8th.
