Softball Recap: Midland Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lake Charles College Prep

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midland). Everything went their way against the Lake Charles College Prep Trailblazers on Monday as the Midland Rebels made off with a 24-4 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Rebels with their most commanding win of the season.

Mackenzie Credeur was a standout: she scored four runs and stole Five bases. while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sage Cormier, who scored four runs and stole Seven bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Midland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .771. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Midland's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Lake Charles College Prep, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Midland will challenge Westlake at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Charles College Prep, they will host Crowley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Charles College Prep has given up an average of 17.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
