The Cartersville Hurricanes put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 48-0 win over Woodland on the road. Considering Cartersville has won four contests by more than 24 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cartersville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khristian Lando, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Lando was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Baylon Long was in the mix as well, providing Cartersville with two touchdowns.
Cartersville's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Woodland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cartersville will take on Dalton at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Dalton is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Woodland, they will be playing at home against Hiram at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Hiram presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Woodland in Georgia (Hiram is ranked 53rd, while Woodland is ranked 256th).
