Make it six blowout wins for the Bethel Jaguars this season. They breezed by Kennedy on the road to the tune of 69-29. Given Bethel's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while Kennedy is ranked 1067th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.
T. Garcia was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 11 points along with eight assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of A. Garcia, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: Marvin Singleton scored 13 points.
Bethel is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethel won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Richmond comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Kennedy, they will head out on the road to face off against Albany at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
