Washington is 9-1 against Kashmere since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Washington Eagles' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Kashmere Fighting Rams at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. One thing working in Washington's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
In what's become a running theme this season, Washington gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Scarborough 78-49 on the road. Given Washington's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Scarborough is ranked 1621st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kadyn Barnes, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 21 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barnes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jalen Webb, who scored 15 points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Kashmere put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They blew past North Forest 78-38 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Kashmere has posted since December 2, 2023.
Washington's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Kashmere, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-9.
Everything came up roses for Washington against Kashmere when the teams last played back in November of 2023 as the team secured a 88-51 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washington since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
