Gaige Stuckey was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Miami Trace let Brody McBee and Austin T Brown run wild. McBee went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Brown got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits McBee has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Bowers, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Miami Trace kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sheridan waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They blew past the Tigers 10-4.
The team relied heavily on Camdyn Packer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
Sheridan pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Miami Trace, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Miami Trace has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sheridan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Miami Trace skirted past Sheridan 3-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Generals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
