The Beaumont Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Cajon Cowboys at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Beaumont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
Last Friday, Beaumont was able to grind out a solid win over Redlands, taking the game 48-39. Given Beaumont's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Redlands is ranked 512th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Beaumont relied on the efforts of Payton Joseph, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds, and Adrian Farias, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Vince tracy Capuras, who scored four points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Cajon wound up with the same score they had in their last game (56-44), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Beaumont has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Cajon, they bumped their record down to 7-13 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Beaumont skirted past Cajon 41-39 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Will Beaumont repeat their success, or does Cajon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
