The East Canton Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Everything went their way against Tuscarawas Central Catholic as East Canton made off with a 52-30 win. The win was nothing new for East Canton as they're now sitting on three straight.
Audrey Wade was a one-man wrecking crew for East Canton as she scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Wade is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelsea Barnett, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Tuscarawas Central Catholic had strong showings from Jessica Selinsky, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Nora Jackson, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Jackson hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
East Canton pushed their record up to 10-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
East Canton will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Newcomerstown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Tuslaw presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Saints in Ohio (the Mustangs are ranked 140th, while the Saints are ranked 796th).
