The McLean County Cougars lost against the Grayson County Cougars back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. McLean County took a serious blow against Grayson County, falling 60-24. McLean County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-9.
McLean County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ava Lannum, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
McLean County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Grayson County, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
McLean County will be home for the holidays to greet Logan County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Grayson County, they will head out on the road to face off against Hopkins County Central at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Hopkins County Central is ranked 146th, while Grayson County is ranked 125th).
