Hargrave Military Academy had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-10 to make it four. They fell 13-10 to the Life Christian Academy Eagles. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Kinlee McBride was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Aaron Cothren also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
As for Life Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games.
On Life Christian Academy's side, Conner Gaster made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Gaster has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Life Christian Academy is undefeated when Gaster posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise.
In other pitching news, JJ Jimenez looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Brandon Dorin, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Radcliff, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Coming up, Hargrave Military Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Blue Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Barons have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Life Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kenston Forest at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
