While it was all tied up 33-33 at halftime, Shipley were not quite Friends' Central's equal in the second half on Monday. Shipley fell 73-63 to Friends' Central. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), Shipley still had to take the loss.
Several Shipley players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Henry Rassmussen, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Rassmussen is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Littles, Jr, who scored 16 points.
Friends' Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Muhsin Muhammad out in front who scored 19 points along with two blocks. Muhammad hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Pat Feamster, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds.
Shipley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Friends' Central, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shipley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Barrack Hebrew Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Barrack Hebrew Academy and five for Shipley. As for Friends' Central, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Friends Select at 4:00 p.m. Friends Select has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 615 points over their last nine contests.
