The Hampton County Hurricanes will head out on the road to take on the Woodland Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hampton County will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
A well-balanced attack led Hampton County over the Jaguars in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Hampton County came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 52-40. Given Hampton County's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Jaguars are ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kavon Chisolm was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Joshua Goodman, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Woodland can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 73-46 win over Ridgeland-Hardeeville.
Hampton County pushed their record up to 19-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Woodland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Hampton County strolled past the Wolverines in their previous matchup on Friday by a score of 69-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hampton County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
