Ava Nixon spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and eight unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Taylor Sutton and Ashlee Alford did most of the damage at the plate: Sutton got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Alford went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs.
