Ava Nixon spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and eight unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Taylor Sutton and Ashlee Alford did most of the damage at the plate: Sutton got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Alford went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Alford has posted since back in May of 2024. Rielly Kisielewski also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
