The Faith Christian Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Faith Christian took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Wayne Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Patriots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Eagles last Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since April 25, 2024.
Peyton Hagans spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.
At the plate, Faith Christian's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Abby Bradley, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Wake Christian Academy beat Franklin Academy 15-11 on Tuesday.
Claire Chandler was incredible, going 5-for-6 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Maddie Daniel was another key player, going 2-for-6 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Wake Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 26 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The victory got Wake Christian Academy back to even at 6-6. As for Faith Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Faith Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like Wake Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .403. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Faith Christian took their victory against Wake Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
