The Gowanda Panthers pushed their score all the way to 74 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 84-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of Frewsburg. Gowanda has not had much luck with Frewsburg recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Gavin Smith was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with seven rebounds and five assists for Frewsburg. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Frewsburg's points. Kael Collver was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Gowanda's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Frewsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gowanda will challenge Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Randolph is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Frewsburg on the road again on Thursday and play against Falconer at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th.
