Having just played yesterday, the Cypress Lake Panthers will get right back to it and host the Ida Baker Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Ida Baker took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cypress Lake, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Cypress Lake didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Wildcats, but they still walked away with a 54-48 win.
Cypress Lake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Giordan Easely led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five assists and three steals. Easely hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Obang Ochan, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ida Baker's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Island Coast on the road and fell 69-42. Ida Baker has not had much luck with the Gators recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Cypress Lake's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12. As for Ida Baker, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with that defeat, which was their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season.
Cypress Lake didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win.
