The Santa Fe Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the North Marion Colts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Santa Fe earned a 7-2 win over Saint Francis Catholic. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.
Jackson McDavid made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Zach Marriott looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.
McDavid wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cohen Bennett, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Tyler Whitworth also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, North Marion beat Bishop Kenny 5-1 on Friday.
Like Santa Fe, North Marion also got a great game from a two-way player: Trenton Ramsey. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Ramsey was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of North Marion's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't).
North Marion has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. Santa Fe's record now sits at 5-6.
Santa Fe came up short against North Marion when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 4-1. Can Santa Fe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
