Wartburg Central has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Rockwood Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wartburg Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 367th, while Rockwood is ranked 164th).
Last Friday, Wartburg Central ended up a good deal behind Oliver Springs and lost 57-39. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wartburg Central in their matchups with Oliver Springs: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Rockwood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They managed a 55-50 win over Greenback.
Rockwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexander Norton, who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds. Ty'varion Pryor was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
The losses dropped Wartburg Central to 0-5 and Oliver Springs to 5-3.
Wartburg Central might still be hurting after the 57-35 defeat they got from Rockwood in their previous meeting back in January. Can Wartburg Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
