The Regents haven't had much luck against the Tigers recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Notre Dame Regents will welcome the Notre Dame Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with the Regents sitting on four straight wins and the Tigers on five.
The Regents proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Saints. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Regents have posted since March 4th.
The Regents let Jaz Mina and Kiera Watson run wild. Mina went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Watson scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Mina has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kamille Beals, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, the Tigers never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Hailey Truong was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Loo, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
The Tigers were getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as the Cougars only posted a batting average of .000.
The Tigers pushed their record up to 11-3-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for the Regents, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
The Regents skirted past the Tigers 6-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Regents have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
