The Mercer Island Islanders lost against the Liberty Patriots back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Mercer Island fell 63-52 to Liberty. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mercer Island in their matchups with Liberty: they've now lost three in a row.
Mercer Island lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nick Mautone, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Cruzen, who scored ten points.
Mercer Island's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Liberty, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mercer Island will take on Interlake at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Interlake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday. As for Liberty, they will be playing at home against Juanita at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Juanita has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
