The Lewisville Lions will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Ware Shoals Hornets at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lewisville has six straight wins, Ware Shoals has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Lewisville put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Great Falls 60-28 at home. With Lewisville ahead 33-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Lewisville found their leader in underclassman Aiyana Murrell, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Murrell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trista Kennedy, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Ware Shoals ended up a good deal behind McCormick on Wednesday and lost 45-26. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ware Shoals in their matchups with McCormick: they've now lost nine in a row.
Tailynn Smith was Ware Shoals' leading scorer, having posted ten points.
Stella Eichorn held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Lewisville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Ware Shoals, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Lewisville strolled past Ware Shoals in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a score of 22-7. Does Lewisville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ware Shoals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
