Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Fayetteville Wolves walked away with it. They took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 72-36 victory over the Mustangs. The victory was some much needed relief for Fayetteville as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Fayetteville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JonBrady Buttram, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Ashton Donahoo was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Fayetteville's victory bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Isabella, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-21.
Fayetteville and Central of Coosa County will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Central of Coosa County will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Fayetteville surely won't give up without a fight. Isabella does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
