Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chambers/Wheeler Central). They took down the Santee Warriors 66-50 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Renegades sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Michael Jesse continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 12 boards. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Daniel Kluver, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.
Chambers/Wheeler Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santee only pulled down four offensive boards.
Despite the loss, Santee still got an impressive performance from Tasunka Starlin, who went 10 for 19 en route to 23 points in addition to three steals and three blocks. Starlin is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Christian Torrez was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.
Chambers/Wheeler Central pushed their record up to 9-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Santee, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
