The Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica Seawolves pushed their score all the way to 66 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 76-66 to Pilibos. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (62), Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica still had to take the loss.
Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Swist, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliott Colin Fenderson, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
It was another big night for Antranik Balian, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and ten rebounds for Pilibos. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Balian has scored at least a third of Pilibos' points. Another player making a difference was Eric Honanian, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Pilibos, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica will face off against Milken at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pilibos' road trip will continue as they head out to face Chatsworth at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th. Chatsworth has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 451 points over their last six matches.
