The Success Unlimited Academy MUSTANGS fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Tuscaloosa Christian Warriors on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Success Unlimited Academy has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Success Unlimited Academy still got an impressive performance from Nakai Depina, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds. Depina scored a full 53.2% of Success Unlimited Academy's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Antony Fenn was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Success Unlimited Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Tuscaloosa Christian found their leader in underclassman Alex Anglin, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Joiner, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Success Unlimited Academy and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Tuscaloosa Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Success Unlimited Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Enterprise Prep at 5:00 p.m. on January 11th. As for Tuscaloosa Christian, they will challenge Chilton Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chilton Christian Academy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
