Softball Recap: Ledyard Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Ledyard got themselves on the board against Montville on Monday, but Montville never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Wolves. Considering the Colonels have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Alexia Lemmon, who gave up just four hits and racked up 18 Ks to keep Montville off the board. Lemmon has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Julia Bonser was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Cimino, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Ledyard's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Montville, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Ledyard will take on Lyman Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montville, they will host Old Lyme at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
