The Madison Jaguars won the last time they faced the Oak Grove Tigers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Madison narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Oak Grove 48-46. Given Madison's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Oak Grove is ranked 293rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Amarrion White was a one-man wrecking crew for Madison as he scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. Another player making a difference was B Vaughn, who scored ten points.
Madison has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for Oak Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
Madison won't have much time to rest: their next game is against General Trass at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. General Trass is coming into the match with four straight losses at home, meaning Madison will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Oak Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
