It was a good run, but the Callaway Chargers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 68-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vicksburg. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Callaway in their matchups with Vicksburg: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Callaway lost, one person who can't be blamed is Javarian Mallard. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with six rebounds. Braxton Ward was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Callaway's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-15. As for Vicksburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.
Callaway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-65 victory vs. Columbus on the 9th. Vicksburg has also already played their next match, a 57-48 loss against Ridgeland on the 9th.
