Richfield and Dietrich are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2020, but not for long. The Richfield Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Dietrich Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Richfield is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
Richfield stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hagerman 48-21 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Richfield has posted since December 12, 2023.
Kasey Hendren continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shelby Jones, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Dietrich has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 54-43 to Filer on Friday. The matchup was a 19-19 toss-up at halftime, but Dietrich was outscored by Filer in the second.
Richfield's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. As for Dietrich, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-3.
Richfield didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Dietrich in their previous matchup on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 46-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Richfield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
