Hull-Daisetta is 0-10 against Big Sandy since March of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Hull-Daisetta has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Hull-Daisetta couldn't beat Evadale on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Bobcats lost 23-10 to the Rebels.
Gauge Russell led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Brayden Fregia was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Big Sandy). They blew past Leggett 19-0 on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Wildcats with their most commanding win of the season.
Corbin Cude and Jasper Hardy made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Cude tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hardy pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Cude went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Hardy went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Big Sandy is 2-1 when Hardy posts two or more runs, but 7-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Ezekiel Angel was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Josh Oliver, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI.
Big Sandy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Big Sandy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Hull-Daisetta, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Big Sandy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hull-Daisetta hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. It's a different story for Big Sandy, though, as they've only averaged .234. Will they be able to contain Hull-Daisetta's hitters?
