Last Tuesday, Calallen took their game at home with ease, bagging a 64-8 win over Harmony School of Excellence. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Calallen has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Incarnate Word Academy entered their tilt with Goliad with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Incarnate Word Academy blew past Goliad 47-23. 47 seems to be a good number for Incarnate Word Academy as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Incarnate Word Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Romanczyk out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was Romanczyk's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Lily Brown was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five steals.
Calallen has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Incarnate Word Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5.
Calallen might still be hurting after the 46-25 loss they got from Incarnate Word Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Calallen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
