The Blue Ridge Raiders will face off against the Riverside Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Blue Ridge has given up an average of 13.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Western Wayne hit Blue Ridge with a six-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders came up short against the Wildcats, falling 14-4.

Hailey Carpenetti was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hailey Champang, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Riverside made easy work of Honesdale on Saturday and carried off a 12-6 victory. Considering the Vikings have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Addie Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, Riverside got a massive performance out of Kate Reynolds, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Mikayla Smith was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
Riverside lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.
Blue Ridge dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Riverside, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.
