Gwyneth Jindra made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.
In other batting news, Grace Detente was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four runs and two stolen bases. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Desaree Shobutte was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Westmont hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.
Westmont has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.6 runs over those games. As for Rickover Naval, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
