Stratton is 0-4 against Limon since May of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Badgers at 4:00 p.m. Stratton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Last Tuesday, Stratton came up short against Holly and fell 11-6. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Von Isenbart made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gage Levin, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Limon had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They didn't even let the Lions on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Badgers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven runs or more this season.
Brody Scherrer was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Scherrer was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Haflich, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Liam Yoder was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Limon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colorado Springs Christian only posted a batting average of .118.
Limon's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Stratton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Stratton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Limon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Stratton suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Limon in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
