The Howard Hawks lost against the Cross Keys Indians back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Howard took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cross Keys. Howard has struggled against Cross Keys recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Howard's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sam Schulman, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Davis, who scored 13 points.
Cross Keys' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Holmes, who scored 25 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Holmes has scored at least 25% of Cross Keys' points. Another player making a difference was Geronimo Edwards, who scored 17 points.
Howard now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Cross Keys, their win bumped their record up to 1-4.
Howard will play host again and welcome Atlanta Area School for the Deaf, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cross Keys, they will head out on the road to face off against W D Mohammed at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. W D Mohammed is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
