The St. Joseph Central Catholic Crimson Streaks are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Gibsonburg Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. St. Joseph Central Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Danbury scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, St. Joseph Central Catholic still came out on top. St. Joseph Central Catholic walked away with a 67-60 victory over Danbury. St. Joseph Central Catholic's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Gibsonburg, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-43 loss to Old Fort on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Gibsonburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while Old Fort is ranked 89th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jake Hall, who scored 15 points. Reece Walby was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
The win got St. Joseph Central Catholic back to even at 2-2. As for Gibsonburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
St. Joseph Central Catholic couldn't quite finish off Gibsonburg in their previous meeting back in February and fell 51-49. Can St. Joseph Central Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
