The Westfield Shamrocks will head out to challenge the Plainfield Quakers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Westfield sitting on five straight wins and Plainfield on 12.
Westfield can't be too worried about heading out to take on Plainfield: they just beat Tri-West Hendricks at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Shamrocks walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bruins on Thursday.
While Westfield might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Tri-West Hendricks scored at least 22 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22.

Westfield can attribute much of their success to Kendyl Strack, who had 17 digs and ten aces, and Kenna Robinson, who had 18 assists and five digs. Strack has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last eight times she's played.
They weren't the only good servers: Westfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 13 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Plainfield was able to grind out a solid win over Carmel on Thursday, taking the game 3-1.
Plainfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-22.
Westfield's record is now 20-1. As for Plainfield, their record now sits at 22-4.
Everything went Westfield's way against Plainfield when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Westfield made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Shamrocks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
