Basketball Recap: Sugar Hill Christian Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Sugar Hill Christian Academy and Bible Baptist Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Sugar Hill Christian Academy had to settle for second. They lost 68-47 to the Bible Baptist Christian Eagles. The Stallions haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Sugar Hill Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tyler Veugeler, who went 6-for-15 en route to 16 points. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Nolan Swift, who posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and five blocks.

Even though they lost, Sugar Hill Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Trent Hamilton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bible Baptist Christian, going 7-for-12 to rack up 19 points along with five boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikahil Mathieu, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Sugar Hill Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Bible Baptist Christian, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 21-1.

Sugar Hill Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bible Baptist Christian, they and Victory Baptist will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Bible Baptist Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
