Purvis is 10-0 against Sacred Heart since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Purvis Tornadoes will be home for the holidays to greet the Sacred Heart Crusaders at 10:43 a.m. Hopefully Purvis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
On Friday, the stars were shining brightly for Purvis in a 46-31 victory over Sumrall.
Purvis' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Systren Eliza Elenus, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Eliza Elenus has scored at least 25% of Purvis' points. Another player making a difference was Lillee Crider, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Sacred Heart, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They fell 38-30 to Mize last Tuesday.
Purvis is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Sacred Heart, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything went Purvis' way against Sacred Heart in their previous matchup back in November as Purvis made off with a 52-29 victory. Does Purvis have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sacred Heart turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
