Pecos has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Clint Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Pecos is ranked 854th, while Clint is ranked 878th).
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Pecos at home against Fabens as the squad secured a 59-19 victory.
Johnny Morales got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Kaleb Paz also helped out as he racked up 103 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Clint had just enough and edged Mountain View out 17-14 on Friday.
Colin Ivey was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 3-4.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Pecos has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 218.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Clint struggles in that department as they've been even better at 323.3 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Everything went Pecos' way against Clint in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as Pecos made off with a 33-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pecos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
