The Fort Worth Country Day Falcons will face off against the All S Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Worth Country Day's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so All S' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Fort Worth Country Day's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Greenhill with a sharp 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Greenhill's batters probably weren't too happy with Madeline Richey, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (she gave up zero walks). That's the first time Richey hasn't allowed a single walk since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryleigh Hall, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kerri Tsai, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for All S, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Southwest Christian School on Friday, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Saints have posted since March 21, 2024.
Heidi Peterson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Maggie Meyer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.
All S' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Fort Worth Country Day, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fort Worth Country Day has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like All S struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Fort Worth Country Day couldn't quite finish off All S in their previous matchup back in March of 2021 and fell 5-3. Will Fort Worth Country Day have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
