Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pace). They put the hurt on the Lopez Lobos with a sharp 21-4 victory on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on three straight.
Isaac Solis made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pace is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-9 otherwise. Solis was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Pace got a massive performance out of Oliver Olvera, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Olvera continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Ryan Martinez was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Pace kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 13.6.
