It was a good run, but the Appleton North Lightning unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. The match between Appleton North and Kimberly wasn't particularly close, with Appleton North falling 60-45. While losing is never fun, Appleton North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Kimberly is ranked seventh).
It was another big night for Katelyn McGinnis, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Kimberly. The contest was McGinnis' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Raegan Krueger was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Appleton North's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Kimberly, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
