The Hope Christian Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Albuquerque Academy Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Hope Christian sitting on three straight wins and Albuquerque Academy on nine.
Hope Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Bernalillo 73-34 at home.
Hope Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Abrianna Bishop out in front who scored 19 points along with two steals and two blocks. Bishop is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Brookelynne Macias, who scored 12 points along with five assists and four steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Albuquerque Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 75-47 victory over Valley. Given Albuquerque Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Valley is ranked 60th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hope Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for Albuquerque Academy, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Hope Christian suffered a grim 57-37 defeat to Albuquerque Academy in their previous matchup back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hope Christian was down 32-11.
