The Macomb Bombers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Kewanee Boilermakers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Macomb is looking for their season's first victory.
Macomb is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Rushville-Industry by a score of 12-11 on Friday.

Langdon Lambert was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Jake Ogle and Emmett Beck did some serious damage despite the final result: Ogle scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Beck scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave Beck a new career-high. Nick Elbe was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Even though they lost, Macomb was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kewanee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Stark County on Saturday as Kewanee made off with a 15-5 win. That looming 15-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Boilermakers yet this season.
Like Macomb, Kewanee also got a great game from a two-way player: Griffin Hicks. On the mound, Hicks pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lincoln Mason pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Hicks went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Mason went 2-for-3 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Logan Peed and Abram Hicks did most of the damage at the plate: Peed scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Abram scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Sheets, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Kewanee's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Macomb, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
