Gavin Burkhart Crosses Big Stat Threshold
River Valley was led to victory by Gavin Burkhart, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Burkhart rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (103.3). He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards.
West Shamokin had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Burkhart it was a similar story. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Burkhart saw the Wolves), he rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.

A Season-Best Performance from Brennan Lohr Leads Conemaugh Township over Homer-Center
On Friday, Conemaugh Township got the W thanks in part to Brennan Lohr playing the best football he has all season. Lohr rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 67 yards.
The win got Conemaugh Township back to even at 5-5. Lohr and Conemaugh Township will head out on the road to take on Windber at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Victor Bartlebaugh Delivers Best Effort of Season
Purchase Line was led to victory by Victor Bartlebaugh, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Bartlebaugh rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.
On the season, Bartlebaugh has averaged 13.5 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after ten games last season, he was only averaging 6.2 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 44 rushing yards.

Yanits Came Up Big in River Valley's 49-21 Victory
The second River Valley player making an appearance here is Sam Yanits, and for good reason. He rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
West Shamokin's probably not too fond of Yanits given he always seems to get the better of them. When Yanits last faced the Wolves back in September of 2023, he rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.

Devlan Kordish Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Devlan Kordish produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Purchase Line to the win on Friday. Kordish rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making six total tackles (1.0 for loss).
On the season, Kordish has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 53.2 rushing yards per game.
