After flying high against Bucktail last Friday, Smethport came back down to earth. The Smethport Hubbers took a 46-28 bruising from the Coudersport Falcons on Friday. The Hubbers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Smethport lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Owen Rounsville, who picked up 174 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Jonah Ganoe was another key back, rushing for 94 yards and two touchdowns.

Coudersport had a senior duo take command as Danny Vanvladricken gained 169 total yards and three touchdowns and Ethan Ott gained 169 total yards and a touchdown. With that strong performance, Ott is now averaging an impressive 104.3 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of John Wright, who threw for 196 yards and four touchdowns.
Smethport's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Coudersport, they pushed their record up to 3-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Smethport has already played their next contest, a 27-12 loss against Bradford on the 4th. As for Coudersport, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 58-24 defeat against Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley on the 4th.
